Boxing Day

Boxing day is the after Christmas. It is a national holiday. The tradition goes many centuries to a time when the rich would put all of their excess food into a special box and they would hand these to the poor and hungry. Sometimes money given and it too would be placed a special box. Boxing day is an excellent time gather with family and friends. It is more of a social and the men go off to the pubs and the women gather to chat with other. Children are still busy with their toys.
This tradition of azy day is beginning to change, too. Shops are now open the day Christmas and it is becoming a time to return presents and to find bargains on Boxing-Day sales.
